learnbangla.net is a reference site for the Bangla script. There is no account to create and no sign-in. The site asks you for nothing and never learns who you are.
What the site stores on your device
No cookies of its own. The practice quiz holds your score and your place in memory for the length of a visit and forgets them when the tab closes.
Three things do use your browser’s storage. The practice quiz remembers the letters you have set aside with “Don’t show again”, so the deck looks the same next time you open it on this device; “Show hidden” in the practice footer empties that list. The analytics described below keeps a random, anonymous identifier there, so that several visits from the same browser count as one visitor rather than several people. Google’s advertising and consent code stores its own entries on the pages where it runs, including the record of any consent choices you make. Clearing this site’s data removes all three.
Analytics
Page views and a small number of interactions — which deck you practise, when the navigation menu opens — are counted using Mixpanel, so it is possible to tell which letters and guides people actually use. What gets sent is the page path and the name of the interaction.
Nothing there identifies you. There are no accounts to attach events to, your IP address is not sent and is not used to infer your location, and the automatic capture of clicks, typing, heatmaps and session recordings is switched off rather than left at its default.
Advertising
This site uses Google AdSense to serve advertising on some pages. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure whether those ads were seen. You can review and change how Google personalises the ads you see at My Ad Center, and opt out of personalised advertising from participating vendors at optout.aboutads.info.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent prompt appears before any personalised advertising is served, and the choices you make there govern what Google may do with your data. Those choices are stored in your browser, so clearing this site’s data will make the prompt appear again.
Fonts and other third-party requests
The Bangla and Latin typefaces are downloaded when the site is built and served from this domain, so reading a page makes no request to Google Fonts. Apart from the analytics and advertising described above, pages load no third-party scripts, embeds or trackers.
Hosting
The site runs on Firebase App Hosting, part of Google Cloud. Like any web server it records requests — IP address, time, page requested and user agent — in operational logs held by Google and used to serve the site and diagnose faults.
