learnbangla.net documents the sixty characters of the Bangla script — eleven vowels, thirty-two consonants, seven marks and ten numerals — one page per character, alongside guides that explain how they fit together and a practice quiz for drilling them.

Why it exists

Most Bangla alphabet material online is either a single dense chart or a video course. Neither is much use when what you want is to look up one letter, see how it sounds, and understand why it is written the way it is. Every character here has its own page for exactly that reason.

How the content is made

The letter data is generated from a single committed source file rather than typed by hand, and a test suite checks it on every change: that each example word actually contains the letter it illustrates, that the aspiration pairs are symmetric in both directions, that every Bangla label uses only Bengali-block codepoints, and that no two pages share a title or description.

The guides are written by hand. Where they make a claim about pronunciation, it describes how the letter is used in standard colloquial Bangla, which is not always what the letter’s Sanskrit origin would suggest.
